#AGQTP Mrs Frisby Unit
Mrs Peita Few - 2009-07-30 11:55:24
During term 2 the students in Mrs Frew's Yr7 English Learning Team studied the book "Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH" by Robert O'Brien. At the end of the term the students were required to complete a sociogram based on the relationships between the characters in the book. They also completed a character profile of these characters. The interactive whiteboard was used to complete these activities.
| #AGQTP - Middle Ages
Ruth Sparkes - 2009-06-26 13:12:16
Year 6 have been studying The Middle Ages and I designed this quick revision exercise using the IWB to distinguish between the life of peasants and nobles.
| #AGQTP - 1R Blend fun
Miss Lisa Hirsimaki - 2009-06-22 12:03:34
The Year Ones have been learning their blends using Easiteach. The children find it enjoyable and are engaged in meaningful learning tasks.
They are also enjoying games that are on LOOP Jnr2 that help them learn different types of animals such as mammals and reptiles.
| #AGQTP - games and documents
kay wheatley - 2009-06-20 18:28:21
Armed with new ICT resources and tools, I have been able to easily create maths games in Easiteach and documents to be used on the interactive whiteboard using the command - shift - 4 technique explained to us during the course.
This has been extremely useful as I am able to capture pictures, text or activities from "free" websites and then use these to create my own resources. In this way I am able to develop learning experiences that are specifically designed for the classes I am teaching and remove anything irrelevant.
Here is an exampe of some of the resources made in term 2.
| #AGQTP - Money Activities
Merridy Krkobabic - 2009-06-19 11:33:40
In year 2 we used the Interactive whiteboard to revise money concepts. The students used image from the multi-media bank to make different amounts of money.
The students then explored giving change using an open number line. Students used the drawing tools and the virtual keyboard to show the correct change given.
| #AGQTP - Geographical Features
Astrid Neldner - 2009-06-18 15:25:17
Year 5 have spent some time learning about land features. The IWB was used in order to revise certain geographical terms. Students were required to move the words to make them correctly label the features on the map.
| #AGQTP - Maths Games
Meredith Muller - 2009-06-17 12:32:39
Students used the Interactive Whiteboard and Easiteach to explore 3 digit numbers. One game focussed on the comparison of three digit numbers and the other games focussed on the addition and subtraction of three digit numbers.
| #AGQTP - Tashi
Lynda Truss - 2009-06-16 11:48:12
From a list of descriptive words, the students selected several words that they thought best described the character Tashi after reading the first two Tashi novels.
They highlighted these words individually and then reflected on the choices as a whole group.
The students then used their favourite descriptive words to retell aspects of the story.
| #AGQTP - Compound Words
Jan Nuske - 2009-06-15 10:06:39
To revise compound words recently, I typed up a few words that could be joined to form compound words. These were put in the ‘Easiteach’ programme, and used on the interactive board.
Individual children were asked to move words together as they saw a compound word. If correct, the class wrote them into their Workbooks.
| #AGQTP - Chinese Characters
Pei-Lien Hsueh - 2009-06-11 15:57:05
Each child plays a role for a six-people-family from Year 3 students. Their task is to first, drag the Chinese characters of the role they play to the corresponding picture.
Once the Chinese characters are matched to the pictures, they then introduce themselves to the role they play from the family.
Another group repeats the same procedures and enjoy the live movement on the Interactive Whiteboard.
Year 7 students have to describe the colour and type of clothing that appears on the screen.
Individual interactive practice means that they can fully expose themselves to the target language.
